Bridge On The River Kwai (Death Railway Or Travel)

The River Kwai bridge made famous by the 1960 movie about a bamboo bridge built by British soldiers in Burma during the Second World War. This movie was mostly fiction, is of metal and concrete bridge and indeed to the Thai authorities. Thailand, tourism offers a great service of train-tours. These are low-cost travel, Thailand, the range of excursions throughout the weekend in various parts of the performing arts. Mosttrips begin and end at the resort of Hua Laphong, the main transportation hub for travelers in the country. Images from this station are listed above. The station is clean and organized, but beware, it is also very busy. As a side note: Thailand is continuing its rail system and buses, the main street people and goods passing through its borders.

The tour, which you should choose a day trip that took me almost the Thai border with Myanmar, which ends in SoiyakPhra Pathom Chedi the Cascades as holding the bridge over the Rive Kwai, the "railway of death" and the cemetery Kanchanabury WWII. I will describe each of these stations in more detail. The trip was a full day, from 7 to watch and re-Hua Laphong not stop until late at night, around the clock 7. The train was air-conditioned and comfortable, at least while we were moving.

Phra Pathom Chedi

Our first stop was called Phra Pathom Chedi at the temple, Thefunction main temple pagoda was a huge (see photo below. The bus stop was enough time for the train station to the temple, without haste. The church, through a market area of the city where everything possible to get a snack with a glass of iced coffee.

Bridge on the River Kwai and Death Railway

The bridge was made famous by a movie in 1960 with the same name. The film was, but in reality to fiction loosely based on eventsthis bridge. Not go into detail about the differences between the movie and this bridge, but that depends on you. In summary, the bridge is located in Thailand, Burma, not people, but many (most British soldiers) have their lives building this bridge for the Japanese during the Second World War. Therefore, Thailand is in this way is known as the "railway of death". The railway line extends from the bridge over the River Kwai in Soiyak Falls is insidious, but well keptand travel insurance. The railway runs along the river and the cliffs overlooking the river and often can be very picturesque. However, these conditions lead to many deaths in World War II.

WWII Kanchanaburi cemetery

This is the cemetery during WWII Kanchanaburi full of bodies of people who have given their lives to build the Kwai bridge for the Japanese army. This attack is very disappointing to know that these men gave their lives building the railway line justTop.

Soiyak Falls

The Soiyak Cascata is the ultimate scale of the trip and is very refreshing. The waterfall is located in areas with reinforced concrete and was a geologist could tell then that is not natural. The Thais are laborious and natural water supply and a tourist stop. The area is a natural area and protected from development, which is good. There are trails that lead to the fountain of waterfalls, a smallsmall stream filled with fish and ice is cold. Also along the route of some caves to explore. The Thais are sacred to these areas, such as the presence of sacred images in the caves occupied. The road is very interesting to see, with endemic plants and animals on the road.

At the end of the road is a historic train, which was once used by the Japanese during the construction of the railway. The plate rail and the people who died inthe construction of the trip was of some importance to me.

We returned to the resort of Hua Laphong very late and I was very tired but the trip was useful and would recommend to anyone interested in Thai history to know something of this trip.
